Saffron, also known as red gold, is the main ingredient of Saffron, from Vitobest®, a 100% natural dietary supplement, without synthetic additives and manufactured with the utmost respect for the natural environment.
Known since ancient times, saffron has been used in natural medicine to fight against mild depression (it was said to bring joy and wisdom), as a painkiller for gums (when children's first teeth came in) and as stomach medicine.
From a scientific point of view, saffron is one of the richest vegetables in riboflavin (vitamin B2) and contains safranal: responsible for its smell and with influence on serotonin (neurotransmitter involved in the individual's mood); and crocin: responsible for its color and with influence on the neurotransmitter noradrenaline (participates in the transmission of messages between areas of the brain through the sympathetic nervous system)1.
According to González, M., saffron's crocins are formed from another flavonoid (carotene) called crocetin, and stimulate the production of bile in the liver to improve digestion2.
Saffron is extracted from the stigmas of the flower of the plant Crocus sativus (exactly from the upper area of the pistil), through an almost artisanal process, which causes its high price in the market and that most products that contain it as an active ingredient use artificial synthetic additives. This is not our case. In the manufacture of its Saffron tablets, Vitobest® only uses dry extract of Crocus sativus 100% natural obtained with the utmost respect for the natural environment.
Vitobest® uses for this supplement vegetable capsules (VegeCaps) suitable for vegan diets and free of titanium dioxide.
