The most important phase of sports activity, which defines success and the ability to achieve our goals, is the post-training phase. After strenuous physical activity, our bodies and muscles have suffered damage at the muscular and joint level, just as they have exhausted various energy substrates, minerals, and amino acids to overcome the effort to which they have been subjected.

Post Training 01

Vitobest®, with the aim of enhancing the recovery of our muscles and our body, has formulated Post Training, one of the most comprehensive post-workout supplements on the market that offers maximum recovery, acting from all fronts:

  • Repair of protein structures at the muscular and joint level.
  • Relaxation and recovery of the nervous system.
  • Anti-inflammatory action.
  • Replenishment of minerals and amino acids.

Post Training 02

Post Training from Vitobest® includes:

  • Clonapure® Creatine: Creatine in its active form, phosphocreatine, is much more effective and provides immediate energy. Creatine mainly acts through its effects on energy metabolism, regenerating cellular ATP1. In this way, it improves strength and power during endurance exercise, as well as increases lean mass2. Numerous studies in athletes confirm their ability to reduce body fat and improve anaerobic exercise performance, strength, and power output3. It also reduces mental fatigue in times of sleep deprivation or exercise to exhaustion4.

    Creatine (Clonapure®)

  • L-Glutamine: the most abundant amino acid in our body and conditionally essential, which means it is necessary during conditions of high physical stress, decreasing its concentration in these circumstances5. For this reason, a contribution of L-Glutamine during intense and prolonged physical activity maintains its concentrations in the blood in a stable manner, favoring its multiple functions in our body6.7:

1 > Acts as a nitrogen transporter at the muscular level, promoting recovery.
2 > Precursor of the antioxidant glutathione.
3 > Regulates acid/base metabolism, preventing states of acidosis.
4 > It participates as a substrate in gluconeogenesis, a process in which glucose is obtained as a source of energy.
5 > Stimulates the production of L-Citrulline and L-Glycine acting as a substrate, promoting vasodilation and hydration.

    Post Training 03

  • BCAA 4:1:1: Essential amino acids are basic components of proteins that the body is not capable of producing, but needs to acquire through diet to ensure its proper functioning and development. The BCAAs are the three most abundant essential amino acids in muscle tissue: L-Leucine, L-Valine, and L-Isoleucine. They differ from other essential amino acids because they have a branched side chain and play an important role in stimulating protein synthesis, being the most anabolic amino acids8. Among its effects on athletic performance, we can find9,10,11:

1 > Improvement in athletes' performance by promoting increased muscle mass and strength.
2 > Accelerates the use of fats as a source of energy, preserving muscle glycogen.
3 > It reduces the synthesis of serotonin in the brain, which is the cause of the feeling of fatigue after exercise.
4 > Improves recovery and reduces muscle damage after exercise.

  • Hydroxymethylbutyrate (HMB): HMB is an active metabolite of the essential amino acid leucine that plays an anticatabolic role in muscle tissue. HMB stimulates protein synthesis, being effective in reducing muscle damage associated with sports activity after high-intensity exercise12.

    Post Training 04

  • Glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate: basic components of cartilage and synovial fluid, with anti-inflammatory and protective properties to prevent and treat joint injuries.

    > Glucosamine is an amino-monosaccharide that is highly concentrated in connective tissues and cartilage. The body uses glucosamine to synthesize the structural components present in both cartilage and joints, and they play a crucial role in providing elasticity, strength, and flexibility to these tissues13. Additionally, it inhibits the inflammatory cascade involved in the degradation of collagen in joint tissues, preventing their deterioration14.

    > Chondroitin sulfate is naturally found in cartilage, where it helps prevent tissue degradation and provides mechanical support to the joints15. Chondroitin is hydrophilic and attracts water to the cells, which aids in hydration and mechanical support of the joints. It also helps the cells that form cartilage to regenerate more efficiently and slows down their death. Chondroitin also has anti-inflammatory effects, inhibiting the expression of pro-inflammatory immune factors16.

  • Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM): Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is an organosulfur compound capable of controlling chronic inflammation, in addition to having antioxidant effects at the lipid and protein level, improving joint pain17,18.

    Post Training 05

  • Sodium citrate, potassium citrate, and calcium bisglycinate: Ions are essential for a wide variety of metabolic processes in our bodies. High-intensity or prolonged workouts can lead to their loss, causing temporary deficiencies that directly affect the proper functioning of our muscles and nervous system, negatively impacting our physical and mental state. Therefore, correctly replenishing these ions is key to reducing our sensation of fatigue and maintaining our performance.

  • Magnesium bisglycinate: Magnesium is one of the most abundant minerals in the body, acting as an electrolyte and cofactor for more than 300 enzymes. At the muscular level, it acts as an endogenous blocker of calcium channels, helping to regulate muscle contraction. It is known that magnesium depletion induces cramps and severe muscle pain, which is why its replenishment after physical activity is fundamental19,20. Moreover, on a hormonal level, magnesium can increase or normalize testosterone levels in the blood, promoting anabolism and muscle recovery21.

Post Training 06

The repair of muscle damage, regeneration of affected tissues, reduction of inflammation caused during sports activity, and replenishment of various components used after training is the key to proper recovery to face the next challenge, the key to Post Training, from Vitobest®.
