β-Alanine 1000, from Vitobest®, is a supplement made from β-Alanine, designed to help delay tiredness and reduce muscle fatigue that occurs when practicing high-intensity sports.
β-Alanine is a non-essential amino acid that the body uses to increase intramuscular carnosine stores. Carnosine, present in fast fibers, is necessary for the execution of explosive movements.
In addition, this amino acid has a "buffer" effect: it is capable of regulating and maintaining constant pH levels, preventing muscle acidification and delaying muscle fatigue. During the performance of high-intensity sports, our body generates lactic acid, a byproduct of glucose burning that accumulates in the muscle decreasing its pH. As a result of this process, the sensation of burning and muscle fatigue usually appears. β-Alanine helps to mitigate these effects.
